Philosophy
Based and working out of Brighton, England, I am a freelance photographer who shoots using traditional methods, solely working with film in 35mm and medium formats.
All of my shoots are based on location, using natural or available light, this method is preferred as I want to capture people in the environment we live in rather than the formal and 'set-up' atmosphere of a studio.
Photography, for me, is about capturing moments with no time for retrospect. I am moved by the chemistry of light burning and etching itself onto film with the texture and depth that negatives provide.
For years I struggled with what 'art' is, specifically my place in that world and the endeavour to be a 'success'. All I've learnt from my work and the people I've met on my journey is to inspire through creation and if you can touch one single person in your life with a poem or a photograph then that itself is the reward.
My inspirations stem from various backgrounds such as the writers Charles Bukowski and Richard Brautigan to photographers such as Anton Corbijn and Francesca Woodman.
My truth is, with every day that passes and with each person I meet I get inspired to create and I hope, in return, that I can keep that chain going by inspiring through my creations.

The Night Shines Like Fireflies is a limited edition coffee table book documenting Supergrass' ‘Diamond Hoo Ha’ album recording sessions in Hansa Studios, Berlin. The book is self-published by Greg Allum Photography and all are signed and numbered by the artist.
